Eduardo is a veteran of the Wireless & Telecom industry, where he has spent nearly two decades since graduating from an engineering degree in Telecommunications.
Eduardo Fernandez is Vice-president & Managing Director at Research In Motion (BlackBerry). He joined RIM in early 2007 and has been instrumental in driving BlackBerry platform services & smartphones business since, extending BlackBerry reach from corporate and professionals to consumers and individuals, leveraging on senior carrier relationships and new marketing strategies.
During his previous ten years tenure at Nokia, he held different positions, heading Sales & Marketing in Spain, Portugal and Mediterranean countries and back in 2004, Eduardo was engaged in corporate transformation and new value added services, mobile content & applications, orchestrating third party alliances.
Eduardo has been managing different organizational structures including multifunctional and remote regional teams, building up processes and managing change in constant adaptation to the rapidly evolving wireless market.
In addition to that, Eduardo has been leading, as an entrepreneur, different start up initiatives in the mobile content, wireless internet & applications world, and holds a board position as independent director and external advisor in some of them.
